Dicalite 416 is a perlite filter cloth precoat that provides the added protection needed in engineered stone applications. Dicalite 416 has a small particle size, high porosity, high surface area, and a relatively inert siliceous composition. These qualities make it ideal as a filter media. Dicalite Management Group’s superior mineral filter aids are light in weight, chemically inert, and form high porosity filter cakes to maintain a free flow of the liquid. Perlite filter aids are often touted for their 25% more filtering capacity. An outstanding characteristic of perlite filter aids is that they weigh 20% less than standard diatomaceous earth (DE) filter aids. Four pounds of perlite filter aid has the same bulk (volume) as five pounds of DE filter aid, and give the same filtering results in many applications
